PAL Program

Overpopulation among cats in the United States is at an epidemic proportion with approximately 40,000 kittens born each day. There will never be enough homes for all of these kittens. As a result, millions of healthy kittens and cats are euthanized every year in shelters. Prevent A Litter (PAL) is a no-cost spay/neuter program for cat rescuers; those who rescue within organizations, or those who privately rescue. People caring for a stray or feral cat (such as caring for homeless cats in one’s yard, or in a colony) are also considered rescuers. Cat owners in financial need can be referred to the program by organizations. Upon request, rescuers, or referred cat owners, will receive a voucher from SCOOP for free spay/neuter and vaccination services.
